Too funny, cofounder = startup bromance.

After thinking about it, I think Jonas has hit it. There is nothing that limits a "Cofounder" today. And it's a nice forcing function to critically look at the skill set you want in a cofouncer.

The thinking was that a cofounder likely brings one or more skill sets (e.g. Designer, Developer, Finance, Management, Marketing, Sales). Posts are already live for a Cofounder (Developer), VP Marketing (Marketing + Management), and CTO (Developer + Management). Just don't want to encourage job postings in search of bromance...

I like that idea... sometimes all you need to get rolling is someone with a specific set of skills.

Love the idea. Maybe a place for people who are interested at working with startups would be good too.

Myself and a few friends have formed a loose group that is starting to specialize in building products for startups. We're finding that a lot of ideas have good potential but putting together an experienced technical team can be difficult.

The idea is somewhat inverted. Imagine a good plan but no team... we could come as a team and build the product for you, taking a little of the pie in the process but getting it done reasonably fast and workable. A kind of Killer App team already built that can accelerate a startup toward their product goal.

It's not official at this point, be we've been working with startups now a few times and see that it might be useful to specialize. Right now what usually happens is that one is brought in and sub contracts the parts as needed to the others, all with the goal of getting the work done rapidly for the startup.

The biggest issue we have now is that because of our experience level etc, we are a bit expensive and because we must be paid and can't only work on shares we are limited to companies that have investors already.

@boris,

Good point. I think we overlooked the "finding" of co-founders as an option. We'll go back and add something.

Appropriate to post "cofounder" positions here as well? Would be great to have this as a category on this page: http://jobs.startupnorth.ca/jt/syndication/feed...
