Earlier today MacRumours reported on the publication of dozens of Apple patent applications covering, among other things, a ‘Multi-Dimensional Desktop’ that looks strikingly similar to Toronto based BumpTop’s 3D Desktop. I couldn't believe the resemblance when I saw it. A lot of people in the MacRumors forums were mentioning Bumptop as well.

It's a funny thing to see. We've coincidentally been having a huge amount of beta signups and twitter follows today at BumpTop ;)

Here i thought that the desktop GUI solves the issue of 'clutter'. Apparently, we have developers that would like to bring clutter back to make some money. Good job, i guess, on making yet another useless application.
